Waveguides

Not just lighter — also more powerful.

Two waveguides showcase Magic Leap AR technology precision for lightweight AR glasses and immersive experiences.

We’re an industry leader in placing waveguides into display assemblies. Through years of innovation and an extensive patent portfolio, we’ve developed unmatched ways of designing smaller, more efficient, and more powerful solutions, delivering an unmatched clarity and resolution. Our patented nano-imprint process has allowed us to design waveguides that are the lightest in their class with unparalleled comfort and versatility.

Field of View

Finally, form and function both win.

Our advanced, ultra-light light-engine and eyepiece designs enable the largest field-of-view (FOV) in the smallest form factor possible. We were the first to deliver a 50° FOV and 70° FOV, and we’re continuing to innovate with a 30° FOV waveguide. Our advanced light-engine and eyepiece technologies balance FOV, weight, size, and cost to meet the needs of different AR devices, users, and experiences — from everyday glasses to wearable workstations.

We’re committed to best-in-class user experiences. That’s why our see-through AR uses precise, real-time calibration and robust eye tracking to make viewing 2D, 3D, and 4D digital content clearer, more stable, and more comfortable for people over longer periods of time. This precision minimizes visual strain and the risk of nausea and dizziness.
